Vacation Packing List FAQ

How much should I pack for a one-week vacation?

Underwear and socks for every day plus two, tops for every day, and bottoms for every second or third day. Two pairs of shoes cover almost any trip: one you walk in, one for water or evenings. Wear the bulkiest pair on the plane.

What are the carry-on liquid rules?

In the US, liquids, gels, and aerosols in the cabin go in containers of 3.4 oz (100 ml) or less, together in one quart-size resealable bag, one bag per passenger. Medication and baby formula are exempt but should be declared at the checkpoint. Larger bottles go in the checked bag.

How do I stop forgetting the same things every trip?

The items that get forgotten are the ones still in use on the morning you leave: charger, glasses, retainer, toothbrush. Keep them as their own rows at the bottom of the list, and re-open the same sheet next trip instead of starting a fresh one — the builder saves your trips in this browser.
